May 23, 2017 — Oakville, ON | ERMS is pleased to sponsor the Halton GO21 Walk, in association with the Halton Down Syndrome Association (HDSA). The Canadian Down Syndrome Society (CDSS) launched Go21 in 2014. “Go” celebrates the advancement and strength in the Down syndrome community and “21” represents the extra copy of the 21st chromosome, which characterizes the genetic condition.
The Halton Down Syndrome Association (HDSA) is hosting the event Saturday, June 17th, 2017 at the Milton Fairgrounds, 136 Robert St., in Milton. Families and friends will take part in the walk through the streets of the downtown and it will be followed by a BBQ, complete with pony rides, bouncy castle, music and dance performances, a silent auction and more.
Every year, the event has helped raise awareness about Down syndrome, as well as funds for programs that enrich the lives of people who live with this condition, including therapy support, social activities, educational programs and more.
