Climate change
ERMS Corporation will continue to raise awareness of the existence and causes of global warming and promote ways of mitigating and adapting to its effects. ERMS Corporation will consider the implications of climate change on our strategies, plans and activities and encourage strategies that support the reduction of greenhouse gases.
ERMS Corporation will also encourage all its Employees to consider the effect on Climate Change of their activities including travel, heating and purchasing within their personal lives.
Natural Resources
ERMS Corporation promotes and considers the importance of conserving fossil fuels and the sustainable use of resources such as water and timber. It will also adopt water and energy waste reduction measures and take into account natural resource considerations when procuring goods and services.
Transport
ERMS Corporation will promote the reduction of motor vehicle journeys within the countries it operates in and encourage more sustainable modes of transport such as rail and bus travel. It will also strive to reduce to an absolute minimum the need for travel by the use of Conference Calls and WEB Based Presentation tools.
Waste
ERMS Corporation will minimise waste by encouraging the reduction, repair and reuse of items and provide more opportunities and facilities for recycling in all its offices and facilities. Any items that do have to be disposed of will be recycled using approved recycling agents and facilities. All ERMS Corporation Offices and Facilities will have the necessary receptacles to allow all Employees, Visitors and Contractors to separate all waste ready for recycling.
Purchasing and contract
ERMS Corporation encourages the purchase of goods and services that cause the least harm to the environment. When considering suppliers ERMS Corporation will ensure such suppliers are committed to their own environmental policies
Energy
ERMS Corporation will promote the benefits of energy conservation and reduction in the community and adopt energyâsaving measures in ERMS Corporation buildings and facilities. It will consider the 'embodied' energy of what it specifies in its purchases and use the repair and maintenance of its existing building stock as another route to reducing energy use. It will also promote the benefits of renewable energy sources, whenever possible, and continue to source renewable power when this option is appropriate.
